Captain’s log, Day 157: obsession with turbans continues.. so far there is no sign of turning back any time soon. Conditions: warm ears and wind blocking abilities through a process of wrapping, braiding and tying. I’ve also started noticing there seems to be an addictive quality to the turban time, one where obsession over new wrapping methods is combined with multiple scarves to create larger and more intricate patterns and shapes. Fashionable women across the nation have started “TTing it” as it’s known in inner circles. Authorities do not yet know how far this turban time reaches, but specialists do agree that it is in fact an epidemic. Please see exhibits A through D, photos taken just this past week, in which turban time has been present, full force.

Captain’s note: after reviewing these exhibits, it appears that high button collared shirts are also quite prevalent. Will write about at more length as the story develops.
Captain CMorr Fancypants, the year of our lord (karl lagerfeld) two thousand one huny and eleven.
as if every season the Lanvin catwalk doesn’t give enough mind blowing sexual energy, lust worthy accessories and orgasm inducing outfits, it seems that Alber Elbez must also come out with the best cat fight ad campaign ever. the luxe apt they shot in is super phenom too. i love the sleazy 70’s porn quality — looks like someone was watching The Eyes of Laura Mars!ladies, how lucky are we to have such an amazing man in our corner! Alber Elbez seems to have the sleek seductive eye of Tom Ford, the prolific design capabilities of Karl Lagerfeld, the classic sensibilities of Stella McCartney and the wild experimental streak of Vivienne Westwood all rolled up into the most sweetest, shyest, most woman loving man ever. till he makes us fight over him that is. and, um, sheer draped dress con harness and bug brooch? i’ll take that thanks. But in the end, who is actually winning this? i’d sure as hell fight for some Lanvin.
Absolutely in LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE with Chanel’s Byzantine adventure for Pre-Fall 2011. Classic Chanel styles sometimes infused, sometimes taken over by ornamentation — square jewel buttons, layers of embroidery, intricate lace, cashmere and silk — all impeccably combined.
This bejeweled jacket is shoulder and collarless !!! amaze. when i was in design school i remember designing something like this, and my teachers told me it was impossible. impossible my friends?! not for The Lagerfeld. and how phenom is this jacket combined with oxford shirt and wide whale trouser.. so relaxed but opulent. totally my steez. i love the massive, almost armor like harness on top of the classic Chanel cream tweed coat. Karl has a way of making slight changes seem so impactful and a la mode.
navy and black, cashmere and leather, asymmetrical pops of gold embroidery, mixed prints, sweaters you want to live in when it’s cold and damp outside, crown headbands on messy done hair, leather boot/legging/tights and jewels jewels jewels.
the show was held in the couture salon on Rue Cambon, surrounded by opulent gold walls, tapestries and furniture. the models started out walking to songs off Dark Side of the Moon, and it ended with shimmering tweed, sequin and beaded gowns, mash ups of embroidery.. i love the belt folded over the gown, so unexpected.
my favorites tho were the frothy confections of opalescent sheer silk chiffon covered in embroidery and cheeky little gold lame panties, and medium grey sheer maxi dress with chain and jewel detailing on the sleeves..
