i am incredibly excited to hear that Yoko Devereaux, a wonderful street wear clothing line for men (sold at flagship store in Williamsburg as well as Saks 5th Avenue, Nordstrom, Colette (Paris), Fred Segal, Odin, Bloomingdales, and Isetan (Tokyo)), that was forced to close last year due to the economic downturn, has been able to reopen their “doors” thru online retailer Gilt Groupe. Andy Sälzer, founder and designer spoke about the new partnership: “Over the last few years, the relationship between designers and the customer has been completely turned upside down. Gilt, however, has been a leader in redefining that relationship. To have them believe so strongly in Yoko Devereaux is an honor.”
it is incredibly exciting and encouraging to witness the rebirth of a boutique clothing line. the fashion industry, as with many industries, is going thru many changes at the moment. Some consider these changes to be signs of a dying industry. Yoko Devereaux is not only prepared to prove these naysayers wrong, but has adapted to be at the forefront of a new business model.
