new job

i want to style music videos.

the funny thing is is i have about 1 million more music videos that inspire me, but as i do this post i can think of none. ha.  FML,  you get these two.

the earlier music video for F&M’s “Dog Days” is really amazing too – weird creepy clowns, victorian, gypsy, and 17th century French bourgeoisie influences.   heart.

how much fun would it be to put together the items for this music video?!  RAD!  let me just go get a mad hot car, shit tons of bling, big booty bitches, yellow clothes and a bunch of lemons?! IM ON IT.

Creators Project, Part 3

obvis if there is a hot party with amazing bands in NYC the people in attendance are going to look stellar too.  i only snapped a few quick shots, but some of the major trends i saw there: Kente cloth enspired prints/fabrics in sundresses, jumpers and tops.  Strong shoulders are still hot, but definitely in a more futuristic way than a 1980’s one.. we’ll see more of this for a while now.  Early 90’s is also crazy trending.  FINALLY getting out of the 80’s – its about time!  Light washed denim, lace, ditzy florals, utilitarian boots, socks and sandals,  leopard print, baby doll dresses, draped oversize tanks, plaid  – no camo yet, but im sure that will come soon enough haha. i wonder if we will see dresses over jeans this fall or next?  but i digress… Oh yeah, jumpers and shorts!  a great replacement for the skirt, the short trend will defs continue thru holiday, paired with opaque tights and a platform wedge.  – man this heat is making me CRAVE fall!  I want to layer!!

aaaaaaand photos.  Creators Project, then Ace Hotel.

Haha im such a dork, Kirsten Dunst outside of the elevator before the doors closedlove the mixture of browns and play of texturefashion gang!Coco Rocha looking relaxed and stunning.  i love the ruffle detail on the skirt pockets! Click the photo to zoom and check out the massive and gorgeous wedding ring from new husband James Conranlove the combination of silky draped pieces, summery and sweet.  AND the socks with open toe sandals.  yes plz.

Drawing on a building with a laser beam. rad.oh wow, i drew a lady’s face.  surprise surprise.

After Creators Project we went with a few friends to the Ace Hotel to an amazing suite my friend Doug won from Vice Magazine.  Sorry to tell you once the party started the camera was put to bed, so you will just have to use your imagination.  Think drinking, dancing, singing, shouting, laughing.  lots.

Creators Project, Part 2

This party was so good – i want to live in it.  Especially the part where i was at the Die Antwoord performance.  Absolutely by far one of the best shows i’ve seen in a long while, Die Antwoord’s sound is massive, bassy, and oh so perfect for wiling out on the dance floor.  As much as YouTube has done for their career, the live act puts all of their videos to shame!   The audience was seething with energy – choruses circling in and out, building anticipation through next-level beats, ultimately crescendoing as audience members shot out of the churning mass of limbs, into the air – flailing and almost floating.

oh right, with three levels of music performances and art installs we passed thru Interpol on the way to Die Antwoord

The “Ugly” Asthetic – *LATE POST*

AAAH just saw this in my drafts haha.. ment to post this in April! FML.  so in anticipation for the DIE ANTWOORD photographs from this weekends Creators Project watch some vids.   …

there are a lot of people offended by some of the more recent musicians coming out these days, not because of their lyrics, but because they do not fit the accepted construction of beauty.  personally, i could not be more thrilled with the le cirque des monstres showing up in pop culture.

Creators Project, Part 1

with the insane line up alone, the Creators Project could have easily cost mad loot to get into.  instead Vice Magazine and Intel teamed up to make an unbelievably well organized 3 floor party complete with open bar(s) free bbq and gelato, interactive art installations, a myriad of A list guest contributors – Spike Jones, Nick Zinner, Mark  Ronson (to name a FEW) as well as tons of A list attendees – Kirsten Dunst, Coco Rocha, Josh Hartnett……….  everyone looked fantastic, were in great moods, ready to chat with whomever and to dance the night away.  One of the first shows we went to was Sleigh Bells, a Brooklyn based dance-punk duo with crazy high energy music and stage presence.  RAD..

Also, i LOVE Julie’s nail polish color!  Seafoam green is one of my faves of the season.
